Puerto Escondido Airport (PXM)
Puerto Escondido Airport is located 3 minutes from Town off Coastal Highway 200 just west of the central part of town. Airport taxis are plentiful and will be available upon your arrival.

From Mexico City
There is only one airline that services Puerto Escondido, the name of the airline is "Click" which is run by Mexicana. Reservations can be made easily online at www.click.com.mx

 

From Oaxaca City
there are two airlines from which to choose if you are coming in from Oaxaca City - Aerovega and Aerotucan. Reservations with Aerotucan can be made on the web at www.aerotucan.com.mx Flight times are usually early in the morning, leaving Oaxaca around 7:00 AM and then leaving Puerto Escondido for Oaxaca at 8:00 AM. Flight times are prone to change often so please confirm times directly with airlines before making travel plans.

Huatulco Airport (HUX)
Another option for air travelers is the Huatulco Airport, which is about 65 miles east of Puerto Escondido by car. Huatulco is a much more developed tourist town and receives more daily flights from Mexico City. Taking a bus from the Huatulco Airport is another alternative.

International flights:
Unfortunately there are no direct flights into Puerto at this time. All international flights must first go through Mexico City or Oaxaca City.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

By car:


From Acapulco (SE on HWY 200; 6 hours):
Take Coastal Highway 200 there are many, many, many topes (speed bumps). About 180 more or less, keeps you awake! Don’t get angry, it’s a normal feeling

From Oaxaca (HWY 175 or HWY 131; 6/8 hours):
Puerto Escondido can be reached from Oaxaca by taking Highway 175, a winding six to eight hour drive mountainous terrain to the junction Coastal Highway 200 (just south of Pochutla), then west about 81 kilometers (50 miles). Also is Highway 131, a direct route between Oaxaca and Puerto Escondido.

From Huatulco (NW on HWY 200; 2 hours):
Puerto Escondido is about 113 kilometers west from Huatulco via Coastal Highway 200.
